"The best-handicapped horse in Britain and Ireland"
That was a market bending statement pumped out
by the Racing Post this week.
Does our man Guy agree full heartedly with that sentiment?
Or do you think the cynical old contrarian may swing the other way
and file it to the bin marked "Utter Tosh" ?

Last Weekend?
Not a vintage one for us being honest.
Winners from the analysis were scanter than hoped for.
Such individual days are not uncommon however.
Poor individual days when they pop up are sort of "so what"
to some of the longer term clients who have been with us for years.
If on the other hand you were someone new who had joined
for their first Saturday one day only DayPass then of course
one would be looking at a personal dataset of 100% rubbish.
Thinking of bigger picture responsibilities I think a decent service should
not avoid talking about such stuff. I am sure on your travels you may have
come across the more rougeish hype marketers whose sales patter
would try to lead you to think a losing day was some form of impossibility.
I'd swing differently believe the greatest chance of long term client success
comes from shrewd but realistic clients.
Punter responsibilities in this zone?
Well I guess the pretty obvious one might be
"Be prepared to give something a fair crack of the whip."
Be selective about what you test or try.
Try then to set for yourself fair crack of the whip testing time.
It does not really matter what zone of life one is in.
Those who run a round like a goldfish with a one day only viewpoint
of the world, tend not to do as well as those who add additional elements
of time to their strategic thinking.
Not All Doom And Gloom Last Weekend
Whist strike rate in the numerous minor
races Guy looked at last weekend was low
there was significant silver lining in his most
important bet of the weekend.
That was 4/1 early odds ACT OF AUTHORITY.
An easy winner for his Account Bet on the Sunday.
Clients betting with a highly selective strategy may well
have punted just one horse last weekend that
being ACT OF AUTHORITY.
Going well long term the Account Bets are.
30% plus profit on turnover over the past three years or so.
No silly promises to you about what a single day may bring.
It could be poor, neutral, good or very good.
I would however promise without hesitation that
Guy will be working super hard at the research.
His long term trend is upwards.
