Munster Handicap Early Research

Guy sent out research work to Full members yesterday.
It covered Sunday's Munster National.

For example in one snippet he says

"28 of the last 30 winners
Were under 10 years old

The 10 yo winners were lucky
One won in a really tiny field
One when half of his rivals
Were disqualified in the race"

So I guess the statistically logical
thing to do would be to put a red
or at least pink line through
any who are 10 or older.

The tough job of finalising your selection
is now just a little bit easier.

I have popped a copy of the full thing online for you at

Extra stats there will give you more horses to knock out.

ALSO

Do you ever use Twitter or X as it is these days?

I set up an account here years ago but never used it much.
However of late, after a multi year break from being social
I have started making a few posts again.
Mainly to date on our own page just posting a link to
any free news email we send out.

I tried to get fancier this week and include an image in the tweet.
Being twitter clueless however the image
appears half the size it was supposed to be.

There may be scope for extra on twitter in future.
Perhaps a tweeted link to the odd
mid week live race Guy has analysis for.
It could go out quick and fast unlike the
more cumbersome to do free email newsletter.

I can see twitter having its dangers however for me.
Mainly that of getting drawn into cruising others pages
and threads and wasting time.

Today for example I found myself on the
British Horse Racing Authority twitter page ranting at them
about their stroke of genius with the Cesarewitch.

They declared Manxman the Winner
but not until three whole days after the race
had finished.

Bookies then were refusing to pay punters
on the ( eventual ) official race winner Manxman.
Some sympathy to bookies for once as they had
already paid out on the ( eventually ) disqualified
Alphonse Le Grande three days before hand.

The bookies probably had to scurry to find and cite the section
of their small print originally written by George Orwell of Animal Farm fame.

"Some official race winners are more official race winners than others"

It was all a bit of a disaster by the BHA.

Picture Victor Meldrew standing outside BHA HQ
waving his Manxman betting slip around shouting
"Three days of BHA dithering..I Don't belieeeeve it !"

At least with twitter one can rant away without the
need to pay for petrol or even pay for a stamp.

Perhaps some day in the near future I will have an AI
assistant who can cruise twitter, find incompetents in authority
and highlight to them the idiocy of their ways.
Till that day comes I will just have to waste time doing it myself.

Anyhow if you want to twitter follow, feel free to do so at

AND FINALLY

A minute silence for Barry Bismarck Dennis RIP.

That's more silence than you would ever
have gotten out of him on the telly.

An entertaining old school bookie with opinions.

Best of luck
Mick
